PS4 9.00 Important Homebrew Apps + How to Install .PKG Files

Hatta Games - Back with another tutorial. This time I'm going to share some of the homebrew apps I use that I think are definitely useful. As always, I'm going to include the download links to every package file as well as the virus total scans. Ill also include a mini description underneath each package file just explaining what the homebrew app is for.

First let's go ahead and get everything downloaded that you need, then I'll show you how to install the package files so you can use your new homebrew applications.

Homebrew Apss

PS4 EXPLORER

- PS4 Explorer is basically a file explorer app to access your consoles hard drive with additional functions. This is basically FileZilla but you don't have to FTP so this homebrew app can be pretty useful. You could also install package files through here as well.

PATCH INSTALLER

- The patch installer allows for the installation of older game updates onto your PS4 games. This is for retail games ( Disk games ) to install newer or older game updates right to your console.

HOMEBREW STORE

- The homebrew store allows for the installation of third-party apps directly to the PS4 over the internet. This homebrew app does update itself, so you don't need to worry about downloading an updated .pkg file of this homebrew app. You could use this to install some .pkg files without having to download them on your computer and transferring them. You could also download emulators directly to your PS4.

Now that you have everything downloaded, let's go ahead and install them onto your PlayStation 4. For this you're going to need a USB flash drive, which shouldn't be a problem considering you need one anyways for the 9.00 jailbreak. Go ahead and plug in your flash drive to your computer and let's get started.

How to install the package files into your PS4 HEN

  • Plug in USB flash drive to computer
  • Transfer the homebrew apps (the .pkg files you downloaded above) to the root of your USB [ Picture below ; Do NOT put the .pkg files inside any folder! ]
  • Now we can go ahead and safely eject the USB flash drive from the computer and head to the PlayStation 4.
  • Plug the USB flash drive into your computer and follow the steps or pictures down below.
  • Plug in USB drive to PlayStation 4
  • Go to your consoles settings and click ★GoldHen★ on the very top
  • Now click Package Installer
  • You'll see the list of .pkg files that you put on the root of your USB earlier
